Everything to consider before planning a wedding
Choosing the right venue is one of the most important decisions of your wedding. Use the checklist below to make sure the location fits your guest count, style and logistics—without surprises.
- Ample space for guests. Confirm seated and standing capacity for ceremony, aperitif and dinner. Ask for the floor plan and maximum table layout.
- Beautiful surroundings. Check photo spots, garden/terrace access and daylight hours. Ask about décor restrictions.
- Indoor & outdoor options. What’s the weather backup? How fast can they switch? Are heaters, tents or umbrellas included?
- All-inclusive packages. What’s included (catering, bar, coordinator, décor, linens, cake cutting)? Hidden fees or overtime rates?
- Parking & accessibility. On-site parking, shuttle options, lifts/ramps, accessible restrooms, elderly/disabled access.
- Experienced staff. Meet the on-the-day coordinator. Ask how many staff per guest and vendor management on the timeline.
- Sound & A/V. Built-in PA, microphones for speeches, DJ/band area, noise curfew and sound limits (dB), power outlets.
- Privacy & exclusivity. Is your event exclusive? Any other events on the same day/area? Security and access control?
- Catering options. In-house vs. external caterers, menu tastings, dietary needs, late-night snacks and bar packages.
- Flexibility & policies. Décor rules (candles, confetti), delivery windows, preferred vendors, deposit schedule, cancellation and force majeure.
